COVID-19: A return to three-digits, 270 new cases involve PATI

Malaysia has gone back to recording a three-digit daily positive cases of COVID-19 with 277 new cases in the last 24 hours.
However, local cases among Malaysian citizens were only four.
At the same time, no deaths were recorded today.
Health director-general, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the 277 new cases, 270 were non-Malaysians from the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot (DTI).
"270 cases are among non-citizens from the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot (DTI), which are repeat samples of the detainees at the detention depot.
"They have been exposed to positive cases in the past. One non-citizen case is from the screening of the construction site in Pudu," he said at a press conference here today.
The new figures raised the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in the country to 8,247.
Of these, 1,573 cases were active and currently undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham said during the same period 28 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of cases of recovery to 6,559.
