COVID-19: RM2m for face masks, RM1m for counselling - Selangor MB

The Selangor government is allocating RM2 million to provide face masks, disinfectants and gloves to the people in the state, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
In announcing the Selangor Prihatin Economic Stimulus Package 2.0 today, the Sungai Tua assemblyman said it is to protect the people of Selangor from COVID-19 infection throughout the duration of the Movement Control Order (MCO).
Amirudin said the state government was aware of the MCO period and the pandemic itself had affected the people's mental health.
"In this regard, RM1 million will be spent on counselling services and acquiring the services of mental health specialists through interactive classes," he said.
The Menteri Besar added in an effort to look after the welfare of the people of Selangor, the state government has agreed to improve the Health Care Scheme.
“For this purpose, RM42.5 million will be spent and will benefit 85,000 recipients.
“The state government is also very concerned about COVID-19 positive patients. For this purpose, RM1,000 will be given to those infected with the virus,” he added.
