KUALA LUMPUR: Schools are advised to set up a one-stop health screening centre in their respective schools to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among students.
President of Permuafakatan Ibu Bapa Malaysia (MIMBAR), Datin Seri Ismalina Ismail, thinks that the one-stop centre will help teachers who are facing constraints.
"We are very confident that in schools there will be parents who work in the health sector such as doctors but are not directly involved as the front line in the hospital, who may be able to discuss with the Parents and Teachers Association (PIBG) and Parent Support Group (KSIB ) to conduct OSC Health Screening.
It doesn't require many people, maybe one or two parents and there could be a shift arrangement to make it flexible for any change,” she said when contacted by Astro AWANI.
According to Ismalina, the team involved will play a role to act immediately if any of the children are found to have symptoms.
"So it means that when suddenly there are symptoms in the children, they can immediately be referred to first or maybe the OSC can further arrange for the children to be brought in for further examination," she said, commenting on the school session which started on Monday.
