Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham in a media statement said that of the total new cases, only three were imported cases.
"The imported cases involved a citizen and two non-citizens, while the local cases involved 5,452 citizens and 620 non-citizens," he said.
A total of 3,516 recoveries were recorded today, bringing the total to 436,116, while active cases stood at 47,340.
Dr Noor Hisham said the death toll due to the pandemic had risen to 2,040 after 46 deaths were reported over the past 24 hours.
