IPOH:A total of 21 KAFA Integrated Religious Schools and seven Islamic kindergartens in Perak were temporarily closed due to being affected by the COVID-19 infection case.
Perak Islamic Religion and Information Exco, Mohd Akmal Kamaruddin said all the schools and kindergartens will be closed from 14 to 25 October.
He said the Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) has provided an allocation of RM2.2 million for the cleaning and disinfection work of the kindergartens.
“All the schools and kindergartens are located in the districts of Manjung, Larut Matang, Selama, Kerian and Kinta.
"We expect there may be more because there are still some places where the students still go through the swab test.
"If the advice from MKN (National Security Council) and KKM (Ministry of Health Malaysia) the classes need to be closed, then we will issue a package or instruction to close it," he said when met at his office here, today.
According to Mohd Akmal, some of the schools and kindergartens have completed the cleaning activities and some were still in the process.
He advised parents not to panic because the closure and disinfection work carried out was a common procedure to stem the transmission of COVID-19.
"All of us, including the government, parents and all parties need to work together to prevent the spread of this pandemic," he said.
He also reminded the management of SAR and Islamic kindergartens in Perak to comply with the instructions issued by the authorities and close them if necessary.Enable GingerCannot connect to Ginger Check your internet connection or reload the browserDisable in this text fieldEditEdit in GingerEdit in Ginger×
