COVID-19: 84 cases recovered, 57 new cases, 2 deaths

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed another 84 cases of recovery and allowed to be discharged today, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases with full recovery to 4,171.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 57 new cases had been reported, resulting in a total of 6,002 positive cases in the country.
Of the total, he said, 1,729 cases were still active with the COVID-19 infectivity.
"It is noted that of the 57 new cases reported today, 25 are import cases. This means that local transmission cases are only 32 cases.
"To date, 36 positive cases of COVID-19 are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and out of that, 14 cases require respiratory assistance," he said in a daily press conference here on Thursday.

He said the cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia was 102 cases (1.7 per cent of the total cases).
"The 101st death (Case 4657) was a 64-year-old Malaysian citizen with a history of blood cancer. He has a close contact history with the COVID-19 positive case of the Bali PUI cluster (the 4476th case).
"The 102nd death (Case 5282) was a 72-year-old Malaysian citizen with a history of hypertension. He was admitted to the Sarawak General Hospital on April 16, 2020 and passed away on April 30, 2020 at 12.55 pm," he said.
