COVID-19: 87 recovered, 122 new cases and 2 deaths

Another 87 COVID-19 cases in Malaysia have recovered and allowed to be discharged from hospital.

Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said it brought the total cumulative number of cases fully recovered to 4,413 or 70 per cent of the total number of cases.

At the same time, 122 new cases were reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Malaysia to 6,298 cases.

"Please note that out of the 122 new cases reported today, 52 are import cases. This means that there are 70 cases of local transmission," he said at a daily press conference here on Sunday.

To date, 27 cases of COVID-19 are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and of these, 13 cases required breathing assistance.

Meanwhile, Malaysia recorded an additional two cases of COVID-19 deaths.

It brings the cumulative number of COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia to 105 cases or 1.66 percent of the total number of cases.
