Four more people have been confirmed COVID-19 positive among tahfiz school and madrasah, making it a total of 695 cases detected from the group as of Sunday.
Director-General of Health, Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that to date, the Ministry of Health (MOH) had screened 15,318 students and staff from 407 tahfiz schools and madrasah.
"Of the 21,722 samples identified, 15,318 samples or 70.5 per cent of them were tested.
"Of the total, 695 cases were confirmed positive, including four latest cases detected yesterday (Saturday)," he said at a press conference here on Sunday.
For the Sri Petaling Mosque rally cluster involving five generations, he said, there was another positive case within 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Dr Noor Hisham said there was no increase in cases in the public markets and care centres for the elderly.
In a separate development, 35,530 foreigners have undergone COVID-19 confirmation tests until Sunday and 1,965 of them were found positive.
Four of them, he said, have died and no patients have received treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU).
"We are still awaiting the results of another 733 samples," he added.
