Data and facts collected by the Ministry of Health (MOH) has shown that Malaysians adhere to the guidelines set out in its effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said if the compliance continued, the ministry expected the COVID-19 infection in the community could be reduced.
“But right now, our focus is on non-citizens’ compliance.
“If we look at such a trend, for example for the eight days we have celebrated the Aidilfitri holidays, there has been no increase in cases.
"This shows compliance with the SOP (standard operating procedure) and we expect that there will be no sudden surge in cases after the holidays," he said at a daily press conference here on Sunday.
At the same time, Dr Noor Hisham said there is a possibility of relaxation to be given to more sectors involving citizens to resume operations.
"So, if we get such data, we might give flexibility to sectors involving the Malaysian public, one of which is registration," he said.
