Any person with interstate travel authorisation need not have to undergo the COVID-19 health screening test once they have reached their destination.
However, Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the Ministry of Health (MoH) recommended that those with symptoms go to a nearby clinic or hospital for a medical examination.
"Only those with symptoms need to undergo screening tests, those without symptoms do not need to.
“So, the case that we know of (a pregnant woman who is COVID-19 positive) is a case of someone who has returned to the village and has come to the Maternal and Child Health Clinic to undergo an examination.
"During the examination, we found she is COVID-19 positive," he said at a press conference here on Wednesday.
Earlier, in the same press conference, he confirmed a pregnant woman returning from Ampang, Kuala Lumpur to her hometown in Kelantan was confirmed COVID-19 positive.
The woman who is 35 weeks pregnant, intends to give birth in the village before being tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing a test at a health clinic in the state.
