COVID-19: Three new clusters detected in Sabah, Johor - Health D-G

He said the Plaza Cluster in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah involved an index case identified through symptomatic individual screening on Nov 11 and admitted to the COVID-19 Low-Risk Quarantine and Treatment Centre at Inistitut Kemahiran MARA in Kota Kinabalu.

Close contact screening then detected 11 more positive cases.

“As of noon today, 19 individuals have been screened and 12 of them tested positive for COVID-19, including 11 new cases," he said in a statement today.

Dr Noor Hisham said the Jalan Kalabakan Cluster in Tawau, Sabah involved an index case identified through symptomatic individual screening on Oct 31 and admitted to the Tawau Hospital.

He said close contact screening found 21 more positive cases.

As of noon today, 22 individuals were screened and all of them tested positive, including three new cases, he said.

In Johor, the Jeri Cluster was identified in Kota Tinggi, Mersing and Muar districts involving an index case identified positive through international entry point screening upon arrival from Singapore on Nov 6.

Dr Noor Hisham said close contact screening in Malaysia found 26 positive cases and all have been admitted to the Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital in Kluang.

As of noon today, he said 1,170 individuals had been screened and 26 of them tested positive, including three new cases, while 609 are still awaiting their results.
