COVID-19: Two clusters still active - Health DG

It involves construction sites in Kuala Lumpur and security guard clusters in Cheras.

"The COVID-19 cluster report which was active in Malaysia until May 16, 2020 involved only two clusters. The first cluster involved the Kuala Lumpur construction site with an increase of 31 cases.

"The Cheras security cluster has an increase of one case, bringing the number to 25," he said at a press conference here on Saturday.

On non-citizen screening tests, he said about 26,000 were screened through the COVID-19 test and out of that, 1,302 were positive.

"464 non-citizens are still in treatment and three more are being treated in the ICU. 830 non-citizens have recovered besides four deaths," he said.

Meanwhile, no new cases were detected in the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in the Jalan Othman Market in Petaling Jaya today.

"The number of COVID-19 positive cases remains at 28 involving two cases outside the EMCO. 21 of them are non-citizens," Dr Noor Hisham said.

At the same time, there was no increase in the cases involving the cluster of Sri Petaling rally and the total number of filtered samples were 78,708 cases.

For screening at 370 tahfiz and madrasah schools as of May 16, 13,468 were screened and passed the COVID-19 test.

"The number of positive cases is 655 cases and those with symptoms are 96 and those positive and non-symptomatic are 559 cases," he added.

In addition, COVID-19 filters in 350 markets to date involved 28,385 samples that have been extracted and tested.

The MoH also announced that the monitoring and surveillance of Bandar Baharu Ibrahim Majid Cluster had been terminated.
