Cuepacs must continue to look after welfare of civil servants

The Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs) must work hard and be committed in championing the rights and welfare of civil servants.
Public Service Department Director-General Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal said since its inception, Cuepacs had succeeded to bring problems and issues concerning civil servants to the government to be resolved.
"Cuepacs has contributed significantly for the wellbeing of the civil servants in Malaysia. Besides bringing up the various woes and complaints of the civil servants, the congress had also proposed several suggestions for the improvement of the civil service system in our country," he said at a dinner in conjunction with the 27th Triennial Convention of the congress, here last night.
Mohamad Zabidi said the well-being of 1.4 million civil servants was important as it could assist the country to continue to progress to become a developed nation with high income as aspired.
More than 200 people comprising delegates from throughout the country attended the dinner. - Bernama
