Cuepacs urges government to meet five demands

Its president, Adnan Mat said this was because the civil servants had proved their loyalty and co-operation by performing their duties well and in a dedicated manner despite the change in government.

‘’The five items have been finalised after detailed studies were conducted but why are they still not implemented yet? When a change in government took place, civil servants become victims of circumstances whereby some demands were neglected.

‘’Whereas, they have carried out their duties well regardless of who the government is to simultaneously ensure the government office administration work functions as normal,’’ he said.

Adnan said this at a media conference after attending the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Widad University College (WUC) and USAINS Holding Sdn Bhd and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between WUC with Department of Community Development Peninsula Malaysia Staff Union (Kesateria) here yesterday.

The five demands were a pay increase effective July 1, 2018, and second, shortening the second time based promotion to 10 years from 13 years effective Jan 1, 2018 in addition to the announcement of additional salary to teachers grade DG56.

It also involved the early redemption of the Holiday Leave Replacement (GCR) of 75 days which could be converted into cash for those who had served for more than 15 years and an additional Cost of Living Allowance Rate (COLA) of RM50 per month for the implementing group which is also extended to civil servants in Sabah and Sarawak.

Meanwhile, on the MoA and MoU, WUC Board of Directors chairman Datuk Nasir Mat, who was also present at the signing ceremony and the media conference, said the co-operation gave the opportunity to Kemas personnel to boost their academic levels including to diploma and bachelor degree.
