Two men faced 11 charges in the Magistrate Court and Sessions Court today for committing terrorist act by throwing and detonating a grenade, wounding eight people at an entertainment centre in Puchong on June 28.

An unemployed Imam Wahyuddin Karjono, 20, and factory worker Junius Ondie @ Jahali, 24, pleaded guilty to all nine counts in the Sessions Court, namely possessing, throwing and detonating Fuze M213 type grenades, causing injury to eight people in the premises.

The offence was allegedly committed at Movida Boulevard Sdn Bhd, Lot G2 and G3, IOI Boulevard ground floor, Jalan Kenari 5, Bandar Puchong Jaya at about 2am.

Both were charged under Section 307(1) of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which provides for jail sentence of up to 30 years, as well as Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.

Judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh fixed Sept 21 as the date of sentencing.

Meanwhile, in the Magistrate's Court, Imam Wahyuddin and Jonius were accused of committing terrorist act by throwing and detonating hand grenades with the intention to continue an ideological fight and the act can be considered as done with intent to threaten the public in Malaysia.

They were charged under Section 130 C(1)(b) of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of 30 years and fine, if convicted.

Imam Wahyudin also faced another charge of, with knowledge, supporting the act of terrorism involving the use of explosives, with the same purpose, through his Telegram account, between March 25 and June 28 at C-4-19, Block Cempaka, Jalan Indah 1, Puchong.

For this, he was charged under Section 130J(1)(b) of the Penal Code which provides for life imprisonment or jail not more than 30 years or a fine, and forfeiture of any property used or intended to be used for that offense.

However, no plea was recorded from the two accused.

Magistrate Mohd Zaki Ashraf Zubir set September 26 as the date for mention of the case after Selangor Prosecution Director Roslan Mat Nor plead for the case to be transferred to the High Court.

On July 4, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed the grenade attack on the entertainment centre was the work of Daish militant.

It was believed to be done on the order of a Malaysian citizen who is a Daish activist residing in Syria, known as Muhamad Wanndy Mohamad Jedi.

However, Muhammad Wanndy denied the allegation.
