Khalid said policemen who were displayed even the slightest sign of radicalisation will immediately be taken off the force.
Police are constantly monitoring its men to detect if there are any Daish sympathisers within the force, said IGP Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
Khalid said policemen who displayed even the slightest sign of radicalisation will immediately be taken action against.
He was commenting on the recent arrest of two policemen along with 13 others for the Movida night club bombing in Puchong last week.
“It is much more easier to monitor our men. That’s why we got them through our monitoring. That’s why we arrested them before they go much deeper into whatever that they are doing and before many more policemen are roped into this propaganda,” he said at a press conference after the Inspector General of Police Hari Raya open house in Pulapol, here today.
When asked if there will be extra security following the incident, especially with the involvement of the policemen, Khalid said security has always been tight since the beginning.
“I request the public not to worry about the two policemen that we have arrested. This because we constantly monitor.
“The slightest sign of radicalisation, we will take action first. Even the arrest, they were in their early stages. They had no time to do anything else, we have arrested them,’ he said.
When asked if the duo will be absorbed back into the police force, Khalid said it would depend on the investigation.
“It depends. There is a process. First of all, our focus is to investigate the whole group,” he said.
Meanwhile, Khalid said that the police is still hunting for the two suspects believed to be involved in the June 28 attack and hopes that people with information about the duo would come forward to help the police.
Khalid added that the police is working well with its counterparts in other countries in tackling the IS problem.
