DAP posts invalid without recognition from the RoS, says former party leader
Zulkifli said ROS had not recognised the new CEC -BERNAMApic
Former DAP vice-chairman Zulkifli Mohd Noor, Thursday, urged all quarters to not recognise the posts of DAP leaders until the Registrar of Societies has verified the outcome of the re-election of the DAP central executive committee (CEC).
He said the DAP currently did not have legitimate leaders at all levels and that their directives and decisions were regarded as invalid.
"Those on the CEC today have no posts. The so-called posts that they hold are not valid. I hope that all concerned or the media would not refer to the leaders with their designations.
"Please forget the posts because they are invalid. If you want to refer to them as the former ... that's correct but not as chairman or secretary-general ... no, they are not ... let's correct," he told a news conference here.
Zulkifli made the remarks when commenting on the call by Penang Wanita Umno chief Norliza Abdul Rahim who had wanted the DAP disciplinary committee to act against Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for having labelled Penang opposition leader Datuk Jahara Hamid as a racist grandmother.
Lim had labelled Jahara a racist grandmother because the latter had allegedly raise a racial issue when she claimed that the Penang DAP government only penalised Malay traders.
Zulkifli said Norliza's call was technically incorrect because the DAP disciplinary committee was powerless so long as the ROS had not recognised the new CEC formed at the re-election on Sept 29.
"All decisions and directives made after Dec 15, 2012, are regarded as invalid so long as there is no recognition from the ROS.
"I urge all quarters to use the official and correct terms when making references to the posts and not confuse the people," he said.
