Daring Looks At The 2015 MET Gala

The Met Gala is probably one of the most anticipated nights for fashion, especially if one indulges in the avant garde and over-the-top creations. Monday night's event and the following costume exhibition at the museum was" China: Through the Looking Glass," celebrating all things Chinese art, design and dresses that interpret the country's culture.
We saw many attempts at interpreting the theme that involved embroidery with Asian motifs, silk and traditional Chinese gowns evocative of the 1932 film, Shanghai Express. With the theme, it had the potential of becoming devastatingly cringe-worthy with some guests unquestionably falling into the category of blatant cultural misappropriation with their choices.
The MET Gala is the Oscars of the fashion world for a reason; it draws so much attention and celebrities flock to the MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC), as this is one of the most exclusive and lavishly expensive soirees ever! The outfits of those who appeared had rich colours, intricate needlework, exquisite gems and jade accessories. This year’s theme certainly delivered jaw-dropping looks from our favourite celebrities but some A-listers decided to go “nude” with their looks. They join the ranks of Lady Gaga, Rihanna and Kate Moss who opt for the virtually bare gowns, showing off their assets and killer bods (i.e. Jennifer Lopez in her plunging cleavage in that green gown at the 2000 Grammys).
We decided to draw focus to some of the industry’s most audacious and fearless female celebs in all their body-baring glory! (Warning: NSFW)

Kendall Jenner bares a little bit of side boob while posing on the red carpet. Jenner wore a Calvin Klein jade green crystal-encrusted dress with black glitter evening sandals and Chopard jewellery.

Naomi Campbell is one of the original catwalk queens and she never fails to dazzle us on the red carpet. She left very little to the imagination as she displayed extreme cleavage in a plunging semi-sheer gown by Burberry.

Imogen Poots wore a Alberta Ferretti black long sleeve sheer gown with lace detail.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley donned a beautiful shimmering dress by Atelier Versace gown and paired her look with Christian Louboutin shoes, and Anita Ko earrings and rings.

Miley Cyrus wore a deep cutout gown while Zoe Kravitz wore a shimmering almost see-through dress, both by Alexander Wang. As usual Miley sexes it up by showing some skin thanks to the sexy number.

Kim Kardashian knows how to demand attention, especially in this nearly nude creation. She made a scene even when she was surrounded by the biggest stars in the world by showing a lot of skin! The 34 year old reality star showed her well-documented assets from every angle in one of Peter Dundas's designs from his first collection for Roberto Cavalli.

Jennifer Lopez never phones it in and always shows off her god given assets, and for that we will always have a fondness for her. The gown was an ombre sequin dragon design in a mermaid silhouette by Atelier Versace paired with a red Swarovski clutch.
And last by not least, Queen Bey wowed everyone at the Met Gala and proved to us that she is the Queen of Sheer!

The superstar showed up late to the annual event but in a shockingly sheer Givenchy gown that all but guaranteed every eye would be on her. Beyonce proves once again that she knows how to both make an entrance and capture headlines with her rocking bod and great sartorial choices.
