'Datuk' businessman escapes murder attempt

A businessman who is a 'Datuk' suffered minor injuries after the car he was in was shot at by two men on a motorcycle at the Loke Yew roundabout, here, today.
Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad said in the incident at about 1.30 pm, the 57-year-old victim in a Toyota Vellfire was heading to the federal capital from Kajang.
"The victim sustained minor injuries when he was hit by pieces of broken glass shattered by the gunshots," he said when contacted here today.
Zainuddin said inspection of the vehicle found more than eight gunshots on the roof and left passenger window of the vehicle.
"The two assailants were wearing face masks and are believed to have fled towards Jalan Hang Tuah; we are investigating the motive for the incident," he said.
Zainuddin said the case was being investigated for attempted murder.
