Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim leaves his home for swearing-in at Istana Negara

KAJANG: Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim left his residence for Istana Negara at 4.03 pm today to be sworn in as Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister.
Clad in a black Baju Melayu complete with sampin and songkok, the Tambun Member of Parliament and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, departed from their residence in Sungai Long here, accompanied by police outriders.
Anwar, 75, also waved to media personnel who have been camping outside his house since Sunday after the 15th General Election to report on the current political developments.
Earlier, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah consented to Anwar's appointment as Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister.
Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, in a statement, said the appointment was made in accordance with Article 40(2)(a) and Article 43(2)(a) of the Federal Constitution.
