Day 14 of Ops Daulat

Security forces clashed with remnants of the Sulu terrorists in Tanjung Batu, Felda Sahabat 22, this morning.

Felda Sahabat will be the first area upgraded towards increasing the number of security personnel and assets under implementation of the Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCOM), covering a coastline of 1,400km from Kudat to Tawau.

12 Adnan-type armoured cars with chain wheels are to arrive in Felda Sahabat tomorrow to strengthen the security forces in their effort to flush out the terrorists from Kampung Tanjung Batu.

Army First Infantry Division commander Major General Datuk Mohd Zaki Mohktar said the armoured cars were brought from Peninsular Malaysia to further strengthen its operations.

Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib slammed terrorist leader, Jamalul Kiram III for his ‘ceasefire’ claims.

Hamza said he never believed in Kiram’s words or any member of Kiram’s family since the very first day.

Meanwhile, he also informed that there were casualties in the two clashes that occurred this morning.

On another development, 17 types of armoured vehicles 'Armoured personnel carrier' (APC) Adnan arrived in Lahad Datu.

The armoured vehicles arrived in Cenderawasih from Tawau around 5pm this evening.

The vehicles also accompanied 17 military trucks filled with soldiers.

The number of arrests so far has reached 104 under the Security Offences (Special Measures) 2012, while 240 arrests have been made for other offenses.

The total number of enemies shot dead is 62.

Ops Daulat that has entered its 14th day where nine national security force members were killed during the operation and nine others injured.
