Day 21 of Ops Daulat
Although security forces were celebrating the 206th Police Day today, the ‘mopping-out’ operation is still ongoing at Tanjung Batu in Lahad Datu area.
A Sulu terrorist was arrested after he surrendered himself to security forces at a swamp area in Kampung Tanjung Batu.
The man was arrested at 5pm after he bumped into the security forces who were conducting operation in the area.
He was initially tried to run and was given a chase by the security personnel but he later surrendered himself as there was no way for him to go anymore.
The man was handed over to police later for further investigation.
On the same development also, the establishment of Eastern Sabah Safety Zone (ESSZONE) have started making its way.
The zones will cover 10 districts stretching a coastline of 1,400 kilometres from Kudat and Tawau to prevent any intrusion from illegal immigrants.
