Deputy Inspector-General Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said that the police have found out that several individuals in Sandakan and Semporna have been sending money to Jolo Island in the Philippines to support militants.
He said these people were under surveillance and would be arrested for treason.
The Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail said he is confident Malaysia's courts will try the Sulu terrorists involved in the intrusion into Lahad Datu in a fair and efficient manner.
Abdul Gani said the case would not take to much time to complete.
Another highlight is that the armed intrusion by terrorists in Kampung Tanduo has caused major damage to the villagers' houses.
Personal belongings, valuables and documents left by the villagers during the evacuation were also missing, believed to be stolen by the terrorists who had holed up in the village since Feb 9.
