Campaigning for the Sungai Limau by-election which entered the third day today, picked up steam as both Barisan Nasional (BN) and PAS, walked their own path to woe the voters.
Being a weekend holiday in Kedah, both parties have lined up a packed programme with activities on the ground like meeting the people, holding ceramah and going from house to house to introduce their respective candidates.
In the morning, BN candidate Dr Ahmad Sohaimi Lazim accompanied Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir for a walkabout at Pasar Nat Bukit Besar here and came face to face with PAS candidate Mohd Azam Abd Samat who was also at the same venue.
Both candidates spent about an hour meeting and greeting people at the market.
Last night, Ahmad Sohaimi led the Isyak prayers, the hajat prayer and led the Yasin reciting at the Kampung Titi Batu surau.
With nine more days of campaigning left before voters go to the polls on Nov 4, both camps are expected to double their activities.
The Sungai Limau by-election will see a straight fight between Ahmad Sohaimi and Mohd Azam after the seat fell vacant when former Kedah MB Tan Sri Azizan Abdul Razak who has held the seat since 1995, died due to heart complications and diabetes.
