DBKL allocates RM90 million for 22 mitigation projects

Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Mhd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz said this year, five flood mitigation projects had been completed.
Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has allocated RM90 million to implement 22 flood mitigation projects around the federal capital in order to overcome flash floods here.
Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Mhd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz said this year, five flood mitigation projects had been completed at a cost of RM14.22 million and are now operating fully.
He said eight more projects worth RM48.53 million are being carried out while work on another nine, worth RM26.6 million, would begin next year.
"Next year, the projects will involve upgrading the main drainage system and the rain water management system in several areas as well as construction of a water catchment area in Segambut Bahagia," he told reporters after launching the flood water pump project in Jalan Chan Sow Lin.
