Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) is offering discounted traffic compound rates in conjunction with 'Settle DBKL Arrears' campaign starting Aug 6 to 20 at 32 locations throughout the federal capital.
Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Seri Mhd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz said during the period, traffic offenders with compound arrears only need to pay RM20 for motorcycles, RM30 for cars, MPV, van, small lorry, pickup and SUV and RM100 for heavy vehicles.
"The special rates are to give traffic offenders a chance to settle their outstanding compounds. Last year, there were 1.2 million outstanding compounds valued at RM1.4 million owed by traffic offenders and DBKL hope the special rates will ease the process of settling their debts," he told reporters here today.
Mhd Amin Nordin said through the campaign, city folks could also pay their assessment, public housing rent and market stall rent at the counters provided.
