DBKL staff claims trial to injuring wife

Judge Shamsudin Abdullah did not allow bail on the accused who was unrepresented.
A Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) general worker pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here on Wednesday to voluntarily causing hurt to his wife last Monday.
Mohd Awalluddin Kasim, 32, allegedly committed the offence against Shafaridah Rasid, 37, a secretary, at Flat Sri Sabah 3A, Jalan Cheras here at 9.30pm on June 19.
The father of one was charged under Section 325 of the Penal Code, punishable under Section 326A which provides for a maximum prison sentence of 14 years and a fine, if convicted.
Earlier, deputy public prosecutor Nurakmal Farhan Aziz did not offer any bail as the accused was still living with his wife.
"After all, this had been the third police report lodged by the victim over the (alleged) violence committed by the accused," he said.
Judge Shamsudin Abdullah did not allow bail on the accused who was unrepresented.
The court set July 23 for mention.
