Dead baby found in toilet tank

A baby boy was found dead inside a toilet tank at a health clinic here Wednesday.

A woman who had gone to the clinic for treatment found the deceased about 9.10am.

The body was sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital.

Seberang Perai Utara police chief, ACP Abdul Rahman Ibrahim said judging from the condition of the body, the baby was born in the last 24 hours.

He said the female patient who used the toilet, realised there was no water when she flushed.

Upon removing the cover of the tank, she found the body of the baby inside, he added.

Abdul Rahman said initial investigations by the hospital found that the baby who weighed 1.7kg, was born at seven months old.
