KUALA LUMPUR:The need to have a Cabinet reshuffle or not, is the Prime Minister’s full autonomy and wisdom, said Kelantan UMNO Chairman, Datuk Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub.
He explained, it is entirely up to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to determine whether there was a need for a reshuffle or it is appropriate for him to continue with the current Cabinet members until the 15th General Election (GE).
"These are all arts in politics and the political wisdom of every leader is an advantage for them in managing governance and controlling the parties in determining the direction of the country, priority for the people is a must," he said in a statement here, on Friday.
Earlier, according to sources, the Cabinet Special Meeting which took place on Friday morning did not discuss the issue of the dissolution of Parliament, GE or the reshuffle of the existing ministers, but only revolved around the discussion of the 2021 Budget issue scheduled for 4 pm, 6 November.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Jazlan also denied the list of the new Cabinet that has gone viral on social media recently.
According to Jazlan, the list of names of the new ministers was not true and was just a political move of certain parties.
"With the country's situation in facing the increasing COVID-19 cases, the reshuffling of Cabinet is not suitable at this time.
"People are struggling and finding a way to source income, the government should focus on the people first.
"Furthermore, the ministers who are currently in office have only served for a few months and it is better for us to prioritise COVID-19 first and UMNO President, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has just announced a political truce to focus on the people's grievances and the people's concern over this pandemic, the country's economy and its survival," he said.
In the recent Cabinet line-up that has gone viral, Ahmad Jazlan was named Minister of Rural Development in the first list and Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry in the second line-upEnable GingerCannot connect to Ginger Check your internet connection or reload the browserDisable in this text fieldEditEdit in GingerEdit in Ginger×
