Decomposed toddler's body found in a trash bin
The mystery of a foul odour coming from a trash bin in front of an apartment unit in Jalan Lintang Madrasah, Jelutong Park here, unfolded with the discovery of a dead infant which was infested with maggots today.
State CID chief SAC Mazlan Kesah said the dead infant was found by a resident who could not stand the stench since last Tuesday.
"The infant was placed in a plastic garbage bag and initial investigations revealed that the apartment unit was occupied by two men and two women, but the women occupants had left the house a few days ago," he told reporters here.
He said the infant's body was sent to the Penang Hospital Forensic Department at 9am today for a post mortem.
Mazlan said so far no arrest had been made and the case was investigated under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealing the birth and dumping the infant.
