Deepavali public holiday extended to Labuan
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today announced that the Deepavali public holiday will also apply to the Federal Territory of Labuan.
He said although there were not many Hindus there, nevertheless, coming under the Federal Territories, Labuan too was entitled to the public holiday.
The decision was made by the Cabinet, Najib said when speaking at the Deepavali open house organised by MIC at the compound of the Batu Caves complex here.
The other Federal Territories are Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
