Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said Darul Ehsan Investment Group (DEIG) assets worth RM30 billion is more worrying than the alleged transfer of RM2.6 billion into the account of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
DEIG is a new entity established by the Selangor government to manage investments of subsidiary companies of the Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI).
Abdul Rahmand said it was worrying that a company which was reportedly worth only RM2, has the authority and power to manage assets worth RM30 billion.
“The amount is huge, RM30 billion. Much bigger than RM2.6 billion. When we see the social media accounts of the Pakatan Rakyat leaders, they are trying to divert from the issue,” he said at a press conference today.
He also questioned why there is no mechanism for the company to provide information to the Selangor state assembly.
Abdul Rahmand also urged Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali to explain the matter as soon as possible.
"Too many questions have been asked but there is no explanation from Azmin. Now, he has to explain to the people,” he said..
“I am worried that there might not be a check and balance in this issue and we do not want misappropriation of money to happen,” he said.
