Deputy Minister meets Malaysian couple detained in Sweden

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Hamzah Zainuddin met with the Malaysian couple, Azizul Raheem Awaluddin and Shalwati Nurshal, detained in Sweden for allegedly abusing their children. He says that the couple are well and have agreed that their children be transferred under the care of a Malaysian-Muslim family in Sweden. The hearing for Shalwati and Azizul is scheduled later today at the Solna District Court in Stockholm which will see them either charged, have their detention extended or be set free.
