ANKARA: A detention order for the suspect who organised an attack that killed three people in Paris was lifted on the recommendation of a doctor, the prosecutor's office said Saturday.
The gunman was referred to a psychiatric clinic, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.
The Paris prosecutor's office said the doctor who examined the French gunman concluded that the attacker's medical condition was not compatible with conditions for detention.
The gunman, 69, who was transferred to the psychiatric clinic of the police, will be questioned by the investigating judge if his health condition allows it.
The gunman, William M, who held an employee ID card from the National Company of French Railways, opened fire Friday in the French capital, killing at least three people and injuring three others.
He was placed in custody after he fired gunshots on Enghien Street in the city centre.
