Dewan Negara adjourns after passing eight bills

The Dewan Negara sitting which was held for 11 days beginning April 18, has been adjourned to a date to be fixed later.
During its first meeting of the fourth session of the 13th Parliament, the Senate passed eight Bills - four new ones and four amendments.
The new bills were the Supplementary Supply Bill (2015) 2016; Forest Research Institute of Malaysia Bill 2016; Companies Bill 2015; and Interest Schemes Bill 2015.
While the four amendments were the Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) (Amendment) Bill 2015; Legal Profession (Amendment) Bill 2015; Child (Amendment) Bill 2015 and Social Security (Amendment) Bill 2016.
The Dewan Negara also passed the motion of thanks on the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah's speech.
At the end of the sitting, Deputy President Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Abd Samad expressed his gratitude to all those who helped in the smooth running of the session.
