Its head, Hu Pang Chaw said the explanation should be left to the PAS top leadership especially through its Members of Parliament and State Assemblymen.

"It is not proper for the DHPPP to give the explanation on Hudud law, instead the role should be taken by the PAS leadership, MPs and Assemblymen in their respective areas.

"In Kelantan, for example, the people have voted for PAS and for the DHPPP, it is proper that the top leadership and elected representatives should play the role because the rakyat have decided to vote for them," he said when contacted, here Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah was quoted as saying that the DHPPP should assist PAS in explaining to the non-Muslims, especially in Kelantan, before the implementation of the law.

"The DHPPP has supported PAS right from the start and they know that PAS wants to uphold Islamic law and when they support PAS, it means that they are willing to accept the struggles of PAS...so they have to play a role to explain to the non-Muslims (on Hudud law)," said Mohd Amar.
