Shahrir said the 20 BNBBC MPs are not involved in the conspiracy to topple the government.
Allegations that twenty BNBBC members of Parliament were involved in the conspiracy to topple the government is not true at all, said its chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Samad.
"We are disappointed with this rumour. There are differences of opinion but that does not necessarily mean there is a conspiracy to topple the government," he said at a press conference today.
"Why is there a need to make up such story? The 20 BN MPs are not at all involved," he stressed.
Asked if deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi should reveal who is the conspirator behind the plan to topple government, Shahrir said it is another issue.
On Saturday, Ahmad Zahid said said there were attempts to topple the government by a ‘certain leader’ from UMNO.
Ahmad Zahid who doesn’t want to reveal who the leader is, however, said this leader is hoping for the support of 87 Opposition MPs and an Independent MP to overthrow the government using the ‘back door’.
UMNO veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah had denied any involvement in the plot to overthrow the government.
Ahmad Zahid had also cleared former deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin from being involved in the plot to topple government.
