Disabled to pay only RM2 for motorbike and car licence
The Road Transport Department (RTD) will reduce motorbike and car licence fees for the disabled to a nominal sum of RM2 from March 15.
"The government will also exempt them from the driving test fee of RM10. The current fee is RM20 for motorbikes and RM30 for cars," he said in a statement here Thursday.
He said the initiative was implemented to ease the rising cost of living for the disabled community.
"They will enjoy this benefit forever. Previously the government provided them an incentive of RM1 for private vehicles Road Tax," he said.
He added that based on RTD records, as of Nov 30 last year there were 229,798 class A motorbike licence holders.
