Disiplinary committee reps can curb internal sabotage

The placement of Disciplinary Committee representatives in all Umno divisions in Kelantan can curb party sabotage during the 13th general election.

Kelantan Umno Liaison deputy chairman Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin said Kelantan Umno fully supported the party's decision to monitor internal sabotage which could affect efforts to win back the state from PAS.

"The committee was set up as an initiative to prevent problems in the coming general election which can be held any time now," he told reporters.

He said this when commenting on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's agreement to appoint a Disciplinary Committee representative in all Umno divisions.

Najib said the move will not only keep a check on activities that may be detrimental to the party and against the Umno agenda.

"We welcome such moves and are always ready to give full cooperation for the party's interests," said Awang Adek who is also Deputy Finance Minister.
