Disney Hotstar to make its debut in Malaysia on June 1

KUALA LUMPUR: The Disney+ Hotstar streaming service will be launched in Malaysia on June 1, The Walt Disney Company announced today.
Consumers can subscribe directly to the service for RM54.90 for three months, or via special packages made available in collaboration with Astro.
In a statement today, the company said the streaming service offers viewers a new way of experiencing the well-loved content from the company's entertainment brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic.
David Shin, general manager of Walt Disney in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia, said the launch of Disney+ Hotstar in Malaysia, in collaboration with Astro, is an important milestone for the company as it continues to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia to bring its compelling entertainment offering to consumers in the region.
"We are tremendously excited to be able to deliver a wide array of content for everyone of all ages through our world-class platform, covering the best from Disney's brands across a multitude of genres," he said.
Meanwhile, Astro Malaysia Holdings chief executive officer Henry Tan said the group is delighted to aggregate the best of the best to be the undisputed entertainment destination for Malaysians.
"Our customers deserve great entertainment and the addition of Disney+ Hotstar with our much-loved hits, local signatures and unparalleled sports would delight them," he said.
