DO charged with outraging modesty of woman

A district officer claimed trial at the magistrates court here today, to outraging the modesty of a woman, three years ago.

Roslan Yahaya, 51,allegedly used criminal force with the intention to outrage the modesty of the 29-year-old woman at the district officer's office at the Land and District Office, Jalan Betek, Sungai Rambai here on April 26 2010.

He was charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code and faces up to 10 years in prison, fine, whipping, or any two, upon conviction.

Magistrate Chiang Kian Hong set bail at RM8,000 with one surety and fixed Feb 25 for mention.

Deputy public prosecutor Amir Hamdzah Othman prosecuted while lawyer Anthony Samy represented the accused.
