KUALA LUMPUR: The Deputy President of Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, has cynically mocked Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on the issue of the proclamation of emergency.
Through his Twitter account, Salahuddin said one does not need the support of the majority in fighting against COVID-19 for the benefit of the people and the country.
However, he said, a Member of Parliament (MP) must have the support of the majority if he wants to be the Prime Minister for the sake of the people and the country.
"To fight against COVID-19 for the benefit of the people and the country, there is no need for a majority.
"To be the Prime Minister in order to fight for the people and the country, there must be a majority.
"Do not cling to the palace’s fence," he said.
On January 12, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah consented to the proclamation of Emergency Proclamation be implemented nationwide as a proactive measure to curb the symptoms of the COVID-19 epidemic.
