The dogs according to the ulama
Most of ulama said that a Muslim is permitted to keep a dog under certain circumstances but it can be ‘Haram’ if kept as pets.
The explanation by some ulama on the law of keeping a dog has been uploaded on Youtube.
Local preacher, Ustaz Azhar Idrus said dog is an animal that have its own interpretation in Islam.
“It is an animal that is not forbid and doesn’t necessary to keep,” said Azhar in his YouTube video.
However, if a Muslim wants to keep a dog, he must follow the rules that have amended accordingly in Islam.
Another preacher, Ustaz Rasul Dahri said for a Muslim to keep a dog, it must be limited for only to guarding property and hunting like have been stated in Hadis .
Rasul Dahri also explained the reasons on why it is not allowed to keep dogs unreasonable.
