Domestic Trade Ministry to rotate officers for more effective enforcement

"I don't want the same people enforcing the same area. There has to be rotation so that they do not become familiar with the people and can provide accurate feedback for us to act upon," he told reporters after opening the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) National Conference 2013, here.

Hasan was asked to comment on the ministry's action in the wake of rumours of a rise in the prices of goods of late. Also present was the deputy minister, Datuk Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, and SSM chief executive officer Mohd Naim Daruwish.

Last Saturday, Hasan stressed that there was no hike in the prices of goods following the 13th general election, and challenged those making such an allegation to come up with proof.

He said the ministry had groups of monitoring officers nationwide and advised those spreading the rumours to stop doing so.

Earlier, in his speech, he said a comprehensive understanding of corporate governance would enable the government and corporate sectors to have a parallel direction.

"The two sides can communicate well, whether it is at the domestic or international levels. It will also enable the two sides to identify latent issues closely associated with business ethics and integrity," he said.
