The statistics on domestic violence as recorded by the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry showed that even though women continue to be the majority of victims, there are male victims as well.
The amendments to Domestic Violence Act 2017 was proposed in Parliament recently following an increase in domestic violence, which currently recorded a sharp increase of 15,617 cases from 2014 up to December 2016.
