Buying an classic, air-cooled Porsche can be tricky. Here's a video on how to spot the things that needs to be spot

So you finally have the means to jump in with both feet and buy an air-cooled Porsche. You go looking around, spotting a few leads, shortlisting the potentials when you start having some doubts. Usually, we’d recommend that you take a mechanic along to see if the car is in good working order and a well-recorded service history should put the car in good stead. But if you’re looking at a 1972 Porsche 911 2.4S and-slash-or a 1991 Porsche 864 RS N/GT, then we some extra help for you.

The video below, featuring Harry Metcalfe, whom some of you might recognise, shows the telltale signs of what to look out for in an original car. More importantly how to look for signs that it’s been in an accident. It’s all very educational.

Both cars will be going under the hammer, in the UK, this Saturday. Watch the video here.
