'Don't worry, just use other Qu Puteh products' - Datuk Vida

Vida Beauty Sdn Bhd owner Datuk Seri Dr Hasmiza Othman has called on the consumers not to panic over the ban of one of her products.

Instead, she encouraged them to use her other cosmetic products.

Hasmiza or better known as Datuk Vida said she will comply with the Health Ministry's ban orders on the sale of Qu Puteh Whitening Pro 9 and Qu Puteh UV Block.

"I need to go through this matter and for the time being, I will recall the products from the market," she said when contacted today.

"Consumers need not worry about using other Qu Puteh products which has been approved," she further said in a voice recording sent via WhatsApp.

The Health Ministry today had banned the sale of two cosmetic products by Vida Beauty Sdn Bhd which were found to contain high levels of mercury.

In a statement, the ministry advised anyone in possession of cosmetic products Qu Puteh Whitening Pro 9 and Qu Puteh Whitening UV Block to immediately stop selling/distributing/using the products.

"The above cosmetic product has been tested and detected to contain mercury which is prohibited in cosmetic products. Cosmetic product Qu Puteh Whitening Pro 9 is no longer allowed to be sold in Malaysia.," the ministry said in the statement.
