Police arrested a man, believed to be a leader of a secret society known as Double Seven (77), in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, yesterday.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk Seri Mohmad Salleh said the suspect, in his 40s, was arrested by the Special Tactical Squad for Anti-Vice, Gambling and Gangsterism.
The suspect is in remand for four days from today for investigation under the Societies Act 1966, he said when contacted by Bernama here today.
Police believed the suspect was also involved in a criminal case reported in Chenderiang, Perak, in 2011.
