DPM Zahid to arrive in Australia tomorrow

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will undertake a working visit to Australia beginning this Sunday until May 9.
The visit is upon the invitation of the Australia''s Immigration and Border Protection''s Minister, Peter Dutton.
Malaysian High Commissioner to Australia Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad said Zahid, who is also Home Minister, is expected to pay a courtesy call to Australia''s Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
"Zahid is scheduled to visit Canberra and Sydney, he will be accompanied by his deputy (Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed) and senior government officials from relevant ministries," he said.
He will also be meeting with Minister for Justice of Australia Michael Keenan.
This working visit by the deputy prime minister to Australia will focus on further strengthening bilateral relations on matters related to security, counter-terrorism, transnational crimes, he said.
Zahid will also exchange views with the Aussie leaders on regional and international issues of mutual interest, he said.
On Tuesday, Zahid flies to Sydney, where he will meet with Governor of New South Wales, David Hurley.
He will also be visiting Australian Border Force College, followed by a dinner with Malaysian students before departing for Kuala Lumpur. - BERNAMA
