Dr. Claus dresses up as Santa Claus
The most joyous time of the year has finally arrived and to join in with the occasion, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia set up an educational party and invited 51 children to the Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat Damansara in SS2, Petaling Jaya for the celebration.
MBM’s President and CEO, Dr Claus Weidner headed the pack of merry makers, all dressed for the occasion with Weidner transforming into Santa “Claus”, the team partnered up with the Damansara fire fighters to awe the children with entertainment and lessons on life skills. At the party, the children not only get to have fun but to learn safety precautions such as the dos and the don’ts of fire safety. They were also given the all important lesson on how to put out fires when the occasion calls for it. After the lessons, the children were treated to a joy ride in the Mercedes-Benz Atego fire trucks along with an exciting display of the fire fighters in action.
“Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has a long-standing association with the community. This year, as part of the year end festive season, we are delighted to host the Pusat Penjagaan Angels, Women’s Aid Organisation and Agathians Shelter, and give the children a chance to learn about their local fire station. Children are a privilege, so my team and I are grateful for the opportunity to share some joy and spend time them. This is certainly one of the highlights of my year. The smiles and laughter of the children are truly priceless,” said Dr Weidner. MBM’s annual Christmas party is held in conjunction with the “Christmas In A Shoebox” program where MBM staff brings a number of under privilege children personally-selected gifts. The program is currently in its seventh year and has reached over 250 children from over 20 homes.
